Ng Tee Weng, 4EV - Head Prefect 2023-2024

In Robotics, there are no set instructions. There is no right or wrong method in programming and building robots. The endless possibilities I faced had been daunting to consider for my Sec 1 self.

During my time as a student leader at Edgefield, I’ve had the privilege to contribute to the vibrant school life and lead with passion and purpose. Leading in key events and working alongside various leadership branches have taught me the values of diverse perspectives and teamwork. Our school places a strong emphasis on student voice, giving us the chance to lead projects that matter to us and impact our peers. These opportunities have helped me step out of my comfort zone, take ownership of my leadership journey, and inspire others to do the same.

Beyond school events, I’ve also represented Edgefield at Model United Nations and attended conferences that have broadened my worldview and helped me build meaningful connections. Through it all, the support of my teacher mentors has been invaluable, guiding me to grow my skills and take on challenges with confidence. Leadership at Edgefield isn’t just about making an impact today—it’s about equipping us to lead with purpose and make a difference in the future.

Jazanne Koh, 3EV - Head of Administrative and Communication Committee 2024-2025 (Prefectorial Board)

When I first came to Edgefield Secondary, I needed more leadership experience to draw from - having only been a class monitor in my primary school. I was eager to join one of the leadership branches here to get a chance to see how leadership worked, improve my skills and gain new experiences.

Through the many opportunities that Edgefield has provided me with, be it Induction Of Students (IOS), Student Leaders' Investiture (SLI), or Teachers' Day, I am proud to say that I have grown a lot as a leader and as a person since the day I first joined the Prefectorial Board. Through the platforms provided, I got to step out of my comfort zone and learn to lead, work with and learn from many other outstanding leaders. Through the challenges and victories of the projects I was part of, we created fond memories I will cherish forever.

And now, as a member of the Executive Committee, I look back on my journey with immense pride and gratitude. I'm thankful for the support and guidance our seniors and teachers give us in our leadership journey. I commit to growth and helping fellow leaders grow!

Sofia Adila, 3ED - Vice Head Prefect 2024-2025 (Prefectorial Board)

I went through Direct School Admission (DSA) for leadership at Edgefield. However, despite knowing that a leader should be able to stand up and face challenges, I could have embraced socialising better.

But this all changed when I took on my first team project in year 1 with my DSA group. I had to collaborate and further develop my communication skills, which forced me out of my comfort zone. However, it was a pleasant surprise when I realised that my seniors and teachers guided me through every step of our project. I could always seek help and support if I needed it from my teammates. As a result, I became more open to accepting and navigating uncharted territories. I improved my overall skills as a leader and a teammate.

Now, as the Vice- Head of the prefectorial Exco team, I also take the time to guide younger leaders and ensure that no one gets left behind or walks alone.

This led me to be more open and accepting of travelling through unknown waters, causing me to improve my overall skill as a leader and a teammate.

Now I've been involved in different major school events like being one of the Orientation Group Leaders (OGL) for the 2023 Induction of Students (IOS), one of the Overall In Charge (OIC) of IOS 2024, eventually leading to me being the Vice- Head of the prefectorial Exco team.
